HAWAII SALSA FESTIVAL PERFORMERS

K-suke and A-jun started a NY-style On2 dance company in Tokyo called Hya-Que in 2008.

The name is derived from the word for the top human body in Japanese.  This spot is theorized to be the place where energy exits the body out into the world.

We think Salsa is a tool which makes everyone's life happy together and productive.  We bring technique to dance easily and gently to all ages.  Lesson helps to reduce stress in the body, and plus, we can help make you look cool when you dance.  We focus on teaching technique in a way that is consistent and can be understood clearly.

In addition to this, Hya-Que is well known as unique and fun dancers in Japan.  We have received a prize in Korea at the Latin Cultural Festival in 2008 and also won first place in the Japan Cup 2010.

Even though we are a new troupe, Hya-Que is quickly gaining popularity throughout Asia.

 

K-suke Lesson details:
Lead and follow tension. Basic technique for Body movement, for example, how to move your shoudlers as do your basic step.  I emphasize connection of the upper and lower body, and teach how to use power without significant effort.

 

A-jun Lesson details:
While known for her fluid teachnique and graceful styling, A-jun is especially skilled at spinning, and for that reason is even admired by Thomas Guerrrero, the Director of Santo Rico Dance Company!  With her unique but teachable lady's styling, she can teach any follower how to make special presence on the dance floor.
